Where do these folks live? Here in Wisconsin, vegetables do not grow until it is much warmer. We had snow on the ground yesterday in my town, and a bit farther north they had quite a few inches. However, those pesky rabbits did chew on some of my bushes and the tulips that are trying to grow. Planting mothballs with the tulip bulbs keeps the squirrels from digging them up, but there is nothing I know of that will keep rabbits from chewing up the plants once they grow above the soil.

Plant tobacco between and around them. Best thing to keep both insects and nibblers away. Toxic.
