Everybody knows that modern hot dogs are made from "mechanically separated" pork, beef, chicken and turkey of... dubious merit. It's a longstanding tradition of the working class sausage, which -- according to the internet -- may or may not have contained actual dog meat way back in its early 20th century German inception! Furthering their deliciousness are other low-cost/high-flavor ingredients like sodium, fat and preservative nitrites -- all of which are linked to potential health problems.

But man, they're so good! Especially with grape jelly.
