Back in the 70’s I had a few friends who had pet rocks. It was a cute gag, but I was never stupid enough to buy one.
I remember a photo in a magazine of a pet rock with a little puddle next to it. Caption was “bad rock!”.

I owned ore than 1 pet rock, and I never bought a one of them. I adopted the little fellas I found along the way. Sedgewick Shale was a nice pet but very sedimentary. Barry Basalt was an hard headed igniousramus, but lovable. Oh, how I miss them.
