I don’t understand why people can be so inconsiderate of others as to take pictures at a funeral. I was overwhelmed with grief at both my parents funerals and my oldest sister kept wanting to take pictures. I mean….What do you do with them? Put them in a scrapbook to look at later and recall how depressed you were…or do you say “Look at the great time we had when Dad died!”
I’ve always thought it was super inconsiderate to take pictures at a funeral. My best friend took a picture of his father in the casket. I guess it was for a life book. Pictures from birth to death. I still think it’s really poor taste, but what do I know?
Egrayj, when my aunt died last year, her son took photos of the casket and the flowers and also of the flowers at the graveyard. She was cremated, and the graveyard had a great big tree in it, where the flowers would be placed after the ceremony. There were loads of flowers. (We’re big on flowers in this country) He did it for himself and his sister so that, although it was a sad occasion they would have this last moment of their mother’s life journey documented. We don’t have open caskets in this country. The lid is screwed on. Nobody else took photos.

The woman taking the selfie could have been my other sister….at my Dad’s funeral she smiled and claimed, “We’re rich!” I hate my sisters!

Seems like some-notorious-body took a selfie at Nelson Mandela’s funeral? Probably a Keynsian-socialist, or similar nobody without class.

How sad and disrespectful.
