I grew the world’s most expensive green peas on my terrace.

Now all he needs is an organic sticker to put on it to justify the price!

Reminds me of when my daughter fell into the “backyard chickens” fad. By the time they were done they were thoroughly sick of eating eggs and selling or giving them away and the cost for a dozen was 3 times what it would have been in the store when you factor in the set up, feed, equipment for winter. Then there was the mucking out, the chasing away foxes, the inevitable dead chicken that made the kids have nightmares because they didn’t get there fast enough. She was so good with them but ok with it when a friend offered to take the whole flock to her place.

Yeah, but there is nothing like the taste of a fully sun ripened tomato. Can’t get ’en in the store and the growing season up here is too short.

Mutt and Jeff did this same strip 30 years ago. Except it was kohlrabi rather than tomatoes.

He might have had a better result if he’d planted them in the garden rather than a pot. We put in three plants this summer and had loads, including about 20 pounds that were frozen. BTW, would you believe the variety was called “Kraft”?

Worth it. Far better than those rubber balls that they sell on stores.
