Mrs. Angelini: For days after getting notice that Mr. Angelini was missing in action in Korea, I preatically lived at church, praying the Rosary over and over. Only through Father Nicodemo's urging did I go home to sleep. Dom's Mother was surprisingly strong, taking comfort in my own bitter grief, and she was tireless in her efforts to keep me healthy... Mrs. Angelini's mother in law: You must eat, Carmela! Mrs. Angelini: But I had no appetite. By whole being was consumed by thoughts of my missing husband and every night I kept our appointment with the moon..I know you can see the moon, Dommie...I know you're alive! Ti amo, Dommie! Come home to me! Heart: Wow! and here I get weepy just when mom has to work late! At least I know where she is! Mrs. Angelini: And that's the real killer...the not knowing!
