pulling out old books is like reacquainting yourself with old friends

when I was a kid of like 8 or 9, I discovered The Shadow and Doc Savage in the reprints in paperbacks

I have a few of them. Not Dr. Seuss, I hate Dr. Seuss. I have one about a little mouse who’s taking care of his sister and his parents disappear. He rescues them from under a bucket. It sounds creepy, but it’s from the 1960s. I’ll have to look for it now.

It took me a while, but I found my favorite book when I was a kid. The Ghost on Windy Hill. I found it the library book sale. One of my favorites.

Over the years we have collected ALL of Dr Suess’s oeuvre. Including the Pocket Book of Boners and The Seven Lady Godivas.

And all the Asterix books in English, Spanish and French. Comfort food it is.

I wonder if she has any “Phoebe and Her Unicorn” books in that box?

Absolutely… I still have some books from child and teen years, at least I will once my sister sends them sigh
