A little dated (when is the last time an umpire wore a dress shirt and tie on the field??)… a real ump would have “run” him long before this… Heathcliff would only have to call him a “certain word that’s a no-no with umpires” (see “Bull Durham” for the word) ;-) .
The guys on the other team (note the colors of the bill of the caps) must be wondering if this is a “pace-of-play” issue. It’ll probably take a couple minutes for the grounds crew to cover the hole Heathcliff’s making in the batter’s box.
