Too bad @Stadium did not get one fact right. I enjoyed this series. After I finish this comment it comes off of my list. Thousands of young black men are murdered every year by other young black men. Why is the black community not addressing that outrage? Nope, they would rather make up a story filled with lies instead of taking the time to even listen to the original 9-1-1 tape. So long “Herb and Jamaal.” I hate racists and bigots.

Why hasn’t anyone blamed prosecutor? There should have been other choices of charges the jury could have used to convict Zimmerman. It was Zimmermans fault that he followed Trevon but by law whether stand your ground or not it was not pure out murder. I’m white & believe he should be in jail awhile. Where was & is the outrage for murder of toddler in stroller when black kids robbed his mother & shot him just for the thrill of it????? There are double standards everywhere & not all are about race!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never forget what? That the media played up TM as a young victim of as power mad racist? Or that GZ has spent years helping blacks by tutoring young black men; championing a black homeless man who had been beat up for no reason by a white perp.; has black family members who lived with him in his home during some tough times or that GZ’s prom date was black while TM was a trouble making kid who had been suspended from school, who was over 6 feet tall and @ 180 lbs. who also had some mixed martial arts training and who, rather than continue on to his home and safety, chose to confront and attack the “crazy ass cracker” who was following him??

I feel terrible for Trayvon Martin’s parents. This should never have happened. Actions on BOTH sides could have prevented this. However I’ve had enough of the sick portrayal of George Zimmerman as an evil racist. His life is destroyed no matter the outcome of the trial. And his family is probably suffering right along with him. Like the first commenter I’m removing this comic from my list. There is no justice to be found in the ‘Injustice Department’s’ investigation. And I’m afraid there never will be. George Zimmerman has to live with having taken a life, even if justified. Martin’s parents have to live with the hole in their lives. And I’m just cynical enough to believe that they’ll sue someone over this. And probably win a large settlement too.

There should no longer be jury trials, judges should hand down convictions. I for 1 DO NOT want to be put in jury pool for any reason. Black Panthers putting a bounty out on Zimmerman. God forbid that if a white person had said things like that, they would be sitting in jail or worse. This DID NOT start out about race this became a political bombshell. Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson would actually have to work if race card wasn’t used all the time. Our great country has gone to Hell. I don’t care what color a persons skin. I also have been followed in stores by security or workers (am white) so please don’t make race an issue. Most people though love to stir in trouble. My heart goes out to Trevon’s mother

Both parties were at fault. Neither one was a saint. However, the jury had reasonable doubt. Having been on a jury, I know how hard it is to be 100% certain. If there is reasonable doubt, the jury must decide in favor of the defense.

I’m so, so, so sick of racist trying to deflect the facts of this case by pointing out young black men are more likely to be kill by other young black men. The African-American community is very painfully aware of this fact and even though the media doesn’t focus on the efforts of many who work to improve that situation, we are not ignoring it. That however, does not excuse anybody from profiling, staking and murdering an innocent kid and NO, we will never!

You probably won’t recognize me or even know my name. My name was Antonio Santiago. I was the 13-month old baby who was shot in the face at point blank range by two Black teens who were attempting to rob my mom who also got shot. A Grand Jury of my mommy and daddy’s peers from Brunswick GA determined the teens who murdered me will not face the death penalty because they were too young… too bad, I was given a death sentence by them for being too young, White, innocent, defenseless and in the ‘wrong’ neighborhood where I lived.

My mommy and daddy made the mistake of being White and living in a 73% non-white neighborhood, but my murder was not ruled a Hate Crime. The Justice Department never even investigated my death, or if my rights were violated. President Obama didn’t take so much as a single moment to acknowledge my murder or honor me.

I am one of the youngest murder victims in our great nation’s history, but the media doesn’t care to cover the story of my tragic demise. Michelle wasn’t heartbroken. President Obama has no children who could possibly look like me, so he doesn’t care and the media didn’t care because my story is not interesting enough to bring them ratings so they can sell commercial time slots.

There is not a White equivalent of Al Sharpton because if there was he would be declared racist, so there is no one rushing to Brunswick GA to demand justice for me. There is no White Panther party to put a bounty on the lives of those Black guys who murdered me. I have no voice, I have no representation and unlike those who shot me in the face while I sat innocently in my stroller – I no longer have my life.

So while you are seeking justice, rioting and demonstrating for Treyvon Martin, please remember to seek justice for me too. Tell your friends about me, tell you families, get tee-shirts with my face on them and make the world pay attention, just like you’re doing for Treyvon Martin.

George Zimmerman was tried by the Media, and even the Presidency. The 911 tapes were doctored by NBC (who is being sued and which fired 3 people) to make GZ appear to be a racist. The real 911 tapes show a man that was asked and he answered. Later when he was closer he was sure as to the color of TM’s skin and answered again. The Prosecution illegally withheld 2/3s of the evidence from the Defense. When the rights of an individual are stomped on it’s OK……Until YOU are the one who is having his rights stomped on.So many people were manipulated in this, beginning with the bogus picture of Trayvon as a little boy.Fortunately the Jury was not.

Researched the Antonio Santiago story from MikeWhitney. Totally appears to be true, trails to be held soon. Also extremely true is the lack of coverage by the Main Stream Media. President Obama made a speech about people crossing the street when they see young black males approaching them and clutching their purses and getting off the elevator asap. Well Mr. President when things happen like this and the extreme murder rate in Chicago with black on black crime, what the H do you expect the general populace to do??

The 2 points everyone seems to miss is simple Dispatcher said do not follow him. 2. What if this was your son. Yes the Media has and always will be a bain to the people they are supposed to report news not change it for reations or scoring the 25-35 demographic. Had Zimmerman never followed Trayon he may still be alive today. Simple. No matter which side of the fence your on it seems a lot of views come straight from the way the Media slanted it. No person is a saint yes there is a lot of Black on Black crime every day. But hard truth there is and forever will be racism in the world. There will always be racial profiling of all races cause that is what this country has engrained in the mindset of the people.

Your right to remove this strip if you so choose it is amazing how he has done other strips like this before but because he chose to have an opinion and put into his strip on his reaction to the senseless death of Mr. Martin. It has soured you forever on his work. He isn’t trying to poison anyone he just publicly put his opinion into today’s strip.

I ask everyone so offended by the statement in this strip today to truly peel away all the layers off of this and open your eyes to the bigger issue. If you live in America you are being engrained by all forms of media to view all blacks as a thugs, All Mexican/Hispanic lazy and stealing jobs and benefits as an illegal that shouldn’t be in America not caring they were born here or not. There are many other nationalities that are here in the country well after visas have expired. Bottom line is you live in America the real enemy is keeping a country so divided that all you can see is color lines.

OK guys….close your eyes, ….dark rainy night, you see a kid in a hoody walking through your, neighborhood, you get suspicious, you check him out by following him to see what’s up, you can 911, they say we are on our way..DONT FOLLOW HIM, you GET OUT OF YOU CAR…and we don’t know, come up on him, and when a scuffle ensues (maybe because you COME UP ON HIM, or I punch you because you question me, i want to stand my ground too), and you are a neighborhood watch person (HA), and PULL A GUN, (why, because I can’t sleep and I am on toy cop patrol?), and the kid get shot…now……..Imagine if he was white, even Zimmerman would be hung…see, he goes from looking like a scary cracker, bald head, lightweight, scary, to a hefty, slick hair, suit wearing minister looking guy for his trial, it took long enough to get his weight up and his hair grown out….but, all of you juror b7’s take heart…God will handle it…..and you!!!

Amazing how many people are deluded in this tragedy. One man killed, another crucified by social media. Inflame your emotions, not your common sense and don’t read all the facts, and THAT keeps rascism alive: it thrives on ignorance but dies in knowledge. Point the one finger, but don’t look around and see the mess around you, or the other fingers of your own hand pointing back. Yes, the cartoonist is allowed his opinion but I’m surprised he is not looking at the many facts just his twitter account. The prosecutors took all of their evidence and did what they could. The jury did their legal due consideration and acquitted an innocent man. He’s innocent because our legal system says so, not what FB or your fav singer says (thank God.) If you were captured into the system, you’d want the same LEGAL consideration.

Let me get this straight. A cartoonist whom everybody – myself included – loves to mock for not mentioning so much as a brand name dares to have an opinion on something everybody in your country is taking about; be that opinion right or wrong, he then expresses it in his cartoon instead of taking the easy way out and ignoring it altogether – and people who have their own opinions immediately begin flaying him for it? Have I got that correct?

Trayvon Martin and the people who idolize him are what wrong with this country. Glamourizing the thug and villianizing the person wanting to protect his neighborhood is just plain wrong. George Zimmerman isn’t white. He’s mostly Hispanic with a black grandfather. You ignorant fools who believe what the mainstream media feed you about him being white makes you all suspect – you can no longer be objective to the facts. The mainstream media feeds you a crisis of the week, and you all eat it up, while Obama signs more an more executive orders that erode your freedoms. Wake up.

To Stephen Bentley, I’m going to have to unsubscribe to your comic strip. You’re perpetuating this crap in your comic strip and you’re making Trayvon Martin out to be a martyr. Martin Luther King carried a gun, and he was also a Republican. You forget which party freed the slaves and gave them equal rights. You’re no better than the lamestream media.

Your dogmatic assertion (ie, assumption) aside, the police arrived less than 2-minutes after the gun shot. They were already headed to the scene. Why? Because Zimmerman called them and because the witnesses who all stated that Martin was straddling Zimmerman and beating him, called the police.

Why is it hard for you to separate facts from emotions?

I do not follow the reasoning of some writers. Personally I do not like thugs that pick fights, usually with smaller or weaker people. But TM was not acting like a thug. He was not armed and believed that he was being stalked. It is hard to accept that a thug went out unarmed. People who justify TM’s death because he supposedly was a thug did not know that at the time. Z killed him first, and asked questions later. He then found “proof” after the event to justify his own actions when TM was no longer alive to give his side of the story. Whatever you call MT, he did not initiate the fight, and never killed anybody, which is more than you can say for Z. I would have expected the benefit of the doubt would go to the unarmed dead man trying to get away, rather than the person who stalked and shot him.

Unlike some writers who cannot accept any comments that oppose their own, I find this strip thought provoking and a credit to Bentley. Others can get a parrot that will just repeat what they say.

I wonder how the media would have gotten all the sentiment if they had shown a recent picture of TM with all his tattoos and not the pretty one when he was younger? If they had said “a high school drop-out and burglary suspect was killed by a Hispanic neighborhood watch member with a gun after attacking him in a mistaken altercation”, would any one have followed the story for longer than 10 minutes or so?
