My son bought his own tux (it was on sale at a men’s store) before he went off to college. That was over 20 years ago and he has worn it many times, including his wedding.

And, as I understand it, that’s about the proper proportion in marriage. I’ve heard 85/15, with men at 15%, is the proper proportion.

WE eloped and had a small service with just family and a couple of friends. Started our marriage without thousands in debt for a party.

I’ll bet the tux would cost almost as much,if being bought.I get why a woman would buy her dress,though ;)
