Try buttering your bread over the plate, or at least over the counter. That way, if it falls, no harm no foul. It’s like the people who drop things in the toilet. Just keep the lid down – problem solved! And anyone too groggy or lazy to lift the lid in the middle of the night…well, that’s on you!
