What Ellie means is that any moment now those snowmen will spring into action to protect that house. XD

Maybe you can figure out another way to fix this than through finances, you could switch houses and let the family move in with your mother while you take the wreckage. Win-win.

“Itty-bitty snow kitty”? How do you not know she’s a girl after she said something so adorable? The snow kitty is missing a whisker, but Ellie loves him anyway. ;)

This – oddly – reminds me of a story I’d heard about the production of the “Jungle Jim” comic strip many years ago …

Seems the writer at a certain point during the strip’s run – I’d thought said writer to have been creator Alex Raymond, though possibly not – had placed Jungle Jim into an inescapable ‘Doom Trap’ …

    … then suddenly died.

Neither the editor nor the other in-house writers could work out an escape for Jungle Jim which made sense.

    Their solution?

They cut away from the situation for a few weeks, till they figured most casual readers would forget the specific details of the trap, then showed Jim having escaped, along with the words …

”… and so, with a mighty lunge, he was free!” ✨❤️✨

This is a bit tougher than unscrewing hinges so that the door comes loose.

Not seeing an ‘Out’ here. ✨

It’s OK, I’m sure the snow family have no understanding of physics either.

Hubbs’ single point focus is going to wipe a suspiciously similar looking snow family.

See that it does not to the flesh and blood versions, my good man.

Twilight Zone twist: The snow family will, in fact, stop it – but the house occupants will sue Hubbs for the destruction of their kids’ sculpture artwork…

Ruh roh… Maybe the snow family is just snow packed around steel posts. Or maybe comic magic will come into play.

Ellie has no concept of physics, and Hubbs has no concept of knowing the difference between Al and Ellie.

At this point in one of those glorious Saturday afternoon movie serials we would all be on the edge of our seats wondering how Tom Mix or Tarzan or Flash Gordon or Ace Drummond or Tim Tyler or any one of a dozen others would escape the impossible-to-escape-from situations they were in, created by the obligatory evildoer.

The resolution the following Saturday was always a disappointment because the impossible-to-escape-from situation would have been re-edited to show an obvious escape route. In this case the re-edit would show the concrete barrier the snowfolks are standing in front of that will save the day. Or somesuch.

I really miss the era when boys (with or without tomboys) could beg a nickel or a dime from their parents, ride on their bicycles across town on their own and return, all unsupervised. No need to lock your bike at the theater, just add ’em to the pile outside and sort ’em out later, which was part of the fun.

Anyone else remember the old Dick Tracy cartoon where someone would say something like “Hold on!” and all the action would freeze? The ability of someone to do that would be useful in this situation.

No Hubbs, she does not have any idea about Physics, but she has hope! Lots more people need that kind of miracle in their lives.

Oh me oh my oh Hubbs

    Whatever shall you do?

    Hallelujah,

    The question is peculiar

I’d give a lot of dough

    If only I could know

    The answer to my question

Is it yes or is it no?

    Does your snowball lose umph

at the bottom of the slope?

If Ellie says please stop it,

Do you try to make it right?

Can you catch it with your fingers,

Can you turn it left or right?

    Does your snowball lose umph

at the bottom of the slope?

    Here comes a blushing Ellie

    Hubbs is by her side

    Up to the house side,

    Just as steady as Gibraltar

    Hubbs has got the snowball

And it’s such a mighty thing

But as he slips in the snow

    The snowball begins to crash:

    Does your snowball lose umph

at the bottom of the slope?

If Ellie says please stop it,

Do you try to make it right?

Can you catch it with your fingers,

Can you turn it left or right?

    Does your snowball lose umph

at the bottom of the slope?

Now the snow people rise as one

    To send their wanted son

    Up to the snowball, yes,

    The nation’s only snowball

    To voice their discontent

    Unto Hubbs and Ellie

    The bonny burning question,

What has sent the snowball this way?

If snowballs are made of snow,

What do they make snow out of?

    Does your snowball lose umph

at the bottom of the slope?

If Ellie says please stop it,

Do you try to make it right?

Can you catch it with your fingers,

Can you turn it left or right?

    Does your snowball lose umph

at the bottom of the slope?

At the bottom of the slope

    Hello Ellie,

    I love you and

    want to hold you tight!

    Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,

    Thursday, Friday, Sat’day night

At the bottom of the slope

    A dollar is a dollar & a dime is a dime!

    He’d sing another chorus,

But he hasn’t got the time,

At the bottom of the s
