captain: spider man got killed, superman got divorced...what's going on? hamhock: when they need to sell more comics , they always do something dramatic. captain: hmm.... hamhock: different kind of dramatic...
Yeah, I missed that, too. Mind you, DC just re-booted all their titles, and at this point Supes and Lois barely know one another, so maybe that’s all the strip is referring to.
Comic books are going too nonlinear for me — if I want to see surreal discontinuities and sudden, disturbing reboots of everything I thought I knew, I would stick to real life.
kids get 52 rebooted DC comics to collect in an era when they can barely read anything but code. I would have worried that my old collection was going to be worthless except there are still a few oid guys collecting intending to oass them on to their grandkids, Maybe Neal Adams and George Perez will get regards as the great artist they are and become art collector icons as well. Movies are saving the comics genre for now, But soon the need for live action will mean some kind of gamer animation for every comic and issues will BE electronically collectables. eBook will, eventually, rule, and it will really cost tor get a comic book then!
