Hamhock: So, Tyr, where'd you get that metal hand? Viking: The dwarves forged it for me from the strength of giants, the agility of elves and the scales of dragons! Hamhock: Oh... well, that's, uh.. great... Viking: No, I don't know where to get that stuff, and no, I can't get them to make one for you... Hamhock: Rats...
I think I’d rather have it be the strength of the strongest ants scaled up to my size if I were Tyr. Some Ant species have been known to lift 50 times their own weight, if Tyr weighs 215 pounds, that would make the hand able to life 10,750 pounds, or about 5,4 tons. Or better yet, the strength of the strongest ants scaled up to a giant’s size. Imagine a giant weighing 2,575 pounds, that would make the hand able to lift 128,759 pounds, or about 64.4 tons.
