Vanquishing peanuts is easy. Brazil nuts and hazel nuts, now that’s hard. And it seems hazel nuts are getting tougher to open than Brazil nuts. I literally had a nutcracker break off in my hand earlier this year trying to open a hazel nut. All of a sudden it was in two pieces and the nut was still unopened. I’d chalk it up to age if the nutcracker I used to finally open the nut hadn’t been three times it’s age. Nut sure it was the metal either as it’s had no problem opening nuts for years. And that especially includes hazel nuts. But the hazel nuts I was opening this year were taking far more force than any I’ve run into in the past.
