Lawrence Taylor has been indicted, and nobody knows who Norman Einstein is. Looks like Joe Theismann got the better part of that deal.

It has happened before the internet. Vinko Bogataj. , a Slovene ski jumper , managed to do the same thing in 1970 on ABC’s Wide world of Sports. He became the personification of “The agony of defeat’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4n3z7QmMNU&feature=related

I was flipping channels and saw a guy in the X-Games a few years back who lost his skateboard at the 30-foot peak of a “big air” trick. When he landed, I turned and said “oh look, some fool just killed himself on ESPN”.

    (Thankfully not.)
