I now have my 4th Venus Fly Trap. I’m 69 and had my first in college. Max life so far was 5 years. Don’t use tap water to water them, as that will eventually kill them. Use rain water or distilled and keep them wet. I fed them raw hamburger or pepperoni every so often.
Great conversation starter, and people loved to see me feed them or just trigger the trap. Don’t trigger the trap very often without feeding them.
If you get one and follow my instructions, they can live a while and be quite fun. They are not too expensive.
