I remember the old frozen dinners covered in tin foil that you put in the oven. I can’t say those were really that good that I remember. Of course, that’s not to say today’s microwave meals are really any better.
I also wonder about my memory of Swanson [TV] chicken dinners from the 60s and 70s. I ***loved*** them; yum! A big difference (apart from the lack of partially hydrogenated fats and built-in dessert) today is the lack of the aluminum tray, and who-knows-what other taste aspect, that micro-wave cooking required. The vegetables certainly fare better today.
