And how long till she says it was more fun working at the Jolly Kone?Of course we know she can’t leave the paper…not with newspapering in her blood, more money in her pocket…and Sarge on her back.

    From yesterday….

Bruno…. of course I knew what you were more or less quoting….I just couldn’t resist the temptation to pull out the ol’ Dyno gun.

And I’m not in the habit of explaining other people’s jokes to everybody on the forum… unless someone asks, I say let ’em rise and fall on their own.

But you gotta quit saying I didn’t “get” it just cos I’d rather riff on it than make a book report!:)

And…. this is the last…. honest!

Ham Gravy I meant to answer you the other day but I was rushed….So I just pasted a bit of your comment:

“… the sterility of computer lettering could undo all the handwork and storytelling efforts that make Jane’s World so enjoyable, and hopefully, profitable.”

My goodness. The differences in size, angle and kerning of her usual text makes me think Paige agrees, and usually letters her own balloons, rather than use even a custom computer font… though that could be wrong, as tundrasea points out after your post.

But the Jane’s World strip we read here is NOT profitable… not in the least.it’s a labor of love, and a gift …which appears here in whatever format Paige can squeeze out time from her very busy day job to produce.Weekly or daily, color or B/W, hand-lettered or not… I’ll take it… thanks, Paige!

Sometimes she has no time to “dress it up”, but she delivers what she can…It’s free, and if you want a “better product” you can continue to buy the books.

Meanwhile, I hope you can appreciate this extra gift… even if the wrappings don’t match your standards.

Wow Paige! You really are a big Trekkie, eh? Jane Tiberius Wyatt! I remember the Tiberius reference but didn’t realize Jane Wyatt played Spock’s mom. Thanks Joe!

I am definitely getting too old. I remember Captain James Kirk had the middle name Tiberius, but Spock’s mom? Here’s the deal:Jane Wyatt (actress – http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0943553/) played Spock’s mom (Amanda Grayson – http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0040549/) No middle name ever given in the show.

I’m really tired of people referring to Kirk as “James Tiberius Kirk”. It’s “James T. Kirk”, DAMMIT!!! The “Tiberius” was only ever used ONCE, in a 2nd-season cartoon. While I do consider the cartoons valid (MORE so than the feature films!!!), honest, what kind of parent would name their kid after a really lousy Roman Emperor?

As for Jane Wyatt… check out Frank Capra’s LOST HORIZON!

We can blame David Gerrold for this. I just watched “BEM” the other night… and out of nowhere, the name “Tiberius” is used 4 TIMES. And each time, the feeling is like… “WTF???”
