Today, my local NPR station was talking about increased shooting incidents where police were the shooters and the people shot were hit with 3, 4, 5, or more bullets and the panel noted that modern police training is for the officer(s) to “keep shooting” until the target is completely down and unable to return fire.

    Scary factoid.

Good morning JW fans. One officer down but her partner saved the day.

@SavannahJackIt truly should be widely broadcast that not only shooting at, but also coming armed to cops will be dealt with deadly force!

Or to hold a cell phone. Or to be non-white. And remember, young officers, the baton, mace, tazer, rubber bullets, etc, are there for cosmetic purposes; go straight for the hollow-points & don’t stop until they’re gone!Possibly the biggest internal security problem the US faces today is the militarization of police forces.

In my town, the cops shot a stray dog out for a stroll, and an investigation showed the dog was shot twenty times by six cops. It’s important to understand that the police officer is not hired because of her or his high IQ. Rather, they’re hired because they can beat people up and shoot them. Cops protect the rich from the poor. That’s their job.

Recently, in the Chicago area, some suburban cops took down a “vicious” 95-year-old WWII vet who was disoriented from the drugs he was being dosed with for an infection in his nursing home. After they tasered him, they shot him with a bean bag load from a shotgun from six feet away, not once, not twice, but FIVE TIMES, while he was sitting in a chair. Sadly, the poor old guy died from the trauma of smashed ribs and internal bleeding. The recommended minimum distance for using bean bag loads is 15 feet. Do you think the police might have used their REAL GUNS if the old guy had been standing and advancing toward them? (Oh yeah, the dead guy was white, the cop was black.)

And I’m JUST A LITTLE TIRED of the WIDE BRUSH being used here to paint all cops as jack-wagons.I spent seven and a half years as a Federal LEO, and in that entire time, I cleared the holster (except during requalification) ONCE – and that was for a suspected Bank Holdup / possible hostage situation!NOT all cops are trigger-happy IDIOTS – and just as Chelle and Jill rolled up on a VERY DANGEROUS situation here, a LOT of cops walk into an unknown trouble call every DAMNED day – or night. And have to solve it, with little or no backup. And too DAMNED MANY cops DIE if they don’t have a VERY FAST reaction time.So BACK OFF my cops, people.

Last year in Los Angeles a crew of cops shot up a pickup truck with two women delivering newspapers about dawn, this in a residential neighborhood. Luckily the ladies survived and none of the stray rounds (lots and lots of them) hit any residents, who were asleep in their homes. No disciplinary action taken against the cops, either. Yes, there is more to the story, but this was a case of deadly force used in a case where no threat to anyone existed. http://rt.com/usa/lapd-dorner-shooting-review-738/
