Im not that enthused about the whole gun control debate - Now there a controversial word: "enthused" The oxford english dictionary does not approve of it. But its so widely used theses days , I've come to accept it. I rather enjoy the word...you might say Im enthused about enthused! Z HAHA
You know what? I’m an editor. Paying attention to grammar is my job, and I appreciate a well-turned sentence.
This sort of grammar policing, on the other hand, is INCREDIBLY ANNOYING.
It’s like a cook who can’t eat a single meal without nit-picking it to death, a movie critic who has to dissect every scene out loud, a nutritionist who scolds everyone who eats even a single cookie or candy bar. It’s like being the parent who, when their child brings them a homemade Valentine, immediately launches into a critique of why the glitter is the wrong color and how the crayon could have been applied more neatly.
There is a time and a place for everything, and being An Expert Nitpicker in social situations is not okay. It just isn’t. It’s rude, because what it says is that you consider yourself superior to other people and that correcting them and tearing them down is more important to you than having a normal relationship with them.
I will be very glad when this particular arc is over.
