Roger, do you like Philadelphia?
Or did you prefer living in Kansas City?
Ive met Sly James inpersomn!
who?
The mayor of Kansas City. he's been to my house and everything!
Mayor Nutter hasn't returned any of my calls.
I once lost a Liar’s Contest to former Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal, and his wife Nancy (now a Federal judge) is a longtime regular (not just honorary like most first Ladies) member of my wife Kathy’s club. If you called the Governor’s Mansion during Mike Sullivan’s tenure odds were even that he’d be the one who answered; and if his Volkswagen wasn’t parked outside the Mansion it was probably at Burger Inn or another eatery whose name I forget. Kathy was once standing in fron of two Easterners who were astounded to see Mike riding on horseback in the Cheyenne Frontier Days parade – “Our Governor only goes out in a bulletproof car!” But as either Dave’s old boss Gov. Ed Hirschler or his Republican counterpart in public esteem Stan Hathaway put it, “Wyoming is a small town wth long streets.”
I saw Jim Wright in a cafeteria in Bonham (Sam Rayburn’s home town). Wright was forced out as Speaker by Newt Gingrich’s lies after Wright’s book sold. Gingrich got US citizenship for Rupert Murdock so the latter could buy Fox; the bribe was a $20 million book deal in which Murdock would furnish the good-track-record authors and Gingrich would supply the plot for six books. The first one was laughed off the market and the rest were never heard of. But Murdock can vote in two countries, as well as influence public opinion with his media.
