Ive gathered some on line data about blue crabs. Technically, only the males have blue claws....the females have claws with red tips. There are 68.5 million adult female crabs in the Chesapeake.... carbs are not over fished! You nat eat Sammy, get out of my room.

I’ve heard spiders taste like crab. Muskrats, I don’t know. Andrew Zimmern probably hasn’t eaten one yet.

One Blue Crab is not worth the effort. Now 6-7 Blue Crabs would be about right, provided you had a couple of side dishes.

Wait were the crab claws already de-shelled or did you have to crack the shells yourself?because last time I went to an all-you-can-eat restaurant I had to break the legs myself.Also you’re wrong about there being plenty of blue-claw crabs because like everything else they are on the decline, infact I rarely saw any at the supermarkets last year.

Crabs may not be overfished (tho’ you’d get an argument from the MD and VA fisheries authorities); but right now they’re pretty danged expensive. Not enough in the bay that are big enough to keep right now. It’ll get better as summer goes on…at least, we hope it will.
