    You know, the danger of this type of quote is that people today read it and think something along the lines of, “If they were saying things like this back then, then it must just be one of those things every generation says about the one that follows it, and therefore, it’s nothing to worry about.” If you thought something like that, then let me remind you that Socrates lived during the decline of Athens’ golden age. Sixty years after his death, Athens was a conquered puppet of King Philip of Macedon.
