Thanks to William the Conqueror invading England in 1066, 40% of the English language is derived from the French. Many of the words maybe pronounced slightly differently but their French origin is evident.I actually live 20 minute from Amboise. It is a beautiful and historic town. Mick Jagger lives in Amboise too. The wine region here is arguably the best in France. The Chateau de Nazelles is more a guest a house these days, rather than a conventional castle. I’m a little concerned about George ripping lumps out of the wall though.
