Peludo Arms Sign: Formerly the Nuclear Arms TV: More nuclear news! Cuco: Another shameless nuclear industry spokesman on the news... TV: Americans give nuclear energy glowing reviews!
Can’t burn nuclear rods, coal, wood, or oil. Hope granny makes me a sweater for Christmas cause this wind isn’t making it. I hear solar power causes melanoma.
Japan made a terrible mistake in locating this plant in a place so vulnerable to natural disasters. They furthered that mistake by not paying attention to all the warnings they got before this happened.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) they exposed to public view the irresponsible way that nuclear energy has been implemented up to this point.
There may or may not be a way to do nuclear energy SAFELY. If there is (and there is a lot of evidence that there is) how likely is it that that SAFE use will win out over so-called CONVENIENT use.
Greed and willful blindness always seems to sabotage plans that would otherwise work just fine.
The chance that SAFE nuclear use can replace UNSAFE nuclear use is fast disappearing. The present evidence is too scary to allow us to easily rethink things.
Uhhh… hmmm… let’s see, the tens of thousands that have died between the earthquakes and tidal waves and the incomparable amount of damage overall or the slight and mostly managed nuke factory??? Hmmmm.
Look, I understand there is a bit of worry, but it’s completely manageable. How about just a hint of grief for those that actually died and suffered by a real catastrophe… not the potential nuclear crisis.
DJ Guardian you said best. Our media is all about selling air time for ads. We get bored soon after the initial shots of the event, but they can keep our attention with scary storys about the Nuclear plants. However this site suffered a 9.0 level earth quake and 30’+ tsunami and no one has died, yes I am aware that cancer takes time. The levels off site are not considered high enough to cause cancer yet and it is thought that the levels will not get high enough. How many North Americans, Europeans and Mid-Easterners have died in the last 10 years over the oil wars? Oh thats’s right as long as it’s someone else and dragged out over time we don’t notice.

With what’s been happening in Japan, I think the Nuclear Industry (and their political backers) are still in the “Tis but a scratch!” stage of grief.
Your leg’s off!

It will be like living on Gilligan’s Island… time to get your own Gilligan to do all the grunt work.
At least the “glowing” pun was good.
