I wonder how many people lost the insurance they had?

People who had difficulty with the exchange in their state was due to the fact that their governors and state legislature didn’t cooperate. One state (SD) had just their friend’s insurance companies available so there were no choices and inadequate coverage, and some state legislators not allowing the fill of the medicare gap. Thank your state governor or state legislators for your difficulties.

You can also thank Fox News and conservative talk radio for telling people that, along with reverse mortgages being a great thing to do, rolling your IRA over into gold and not to bother with the ACA enrollment because you’ll never get online and it won’t work when you’re there, anyway. Forgetting to tell people that they can use telephones to enroll, as well.

When it comes time to pull the plug on you, the decision should be yours or a loved one’s, not some federal bureaucrat’s.

We use the word ‘bureaucrat’ for either a government functionary or a member of a non-governmental administrative hierarchy, but that does not equate them morally. The government official is ultimately backed by the entire panoply of government power: guns, tanks, bombers, missiles, etc. But economic power is in no way comparable. As Ayn Rand used to put it, it’s the difference between a gun and a dollar. That is a difference you seem not to see.
