The Beandocks Msg from Cuco: Hey Mr. President, congrats on moving to get Cuba off the Terrorist Nations list. Well, thank you there, young brother. Though you're just gonna put them on the Gentrification List.
As long as Cuba maintains itself as a sovereign nation, the inequality and displacement that comes with gentrification will probably not be as extreme as in many other places. Keep in mind that Cuba has had extensive dealings with just about every other industrialized country in the world for a while now, and still is what it is. Not that all sorts of companies won’t try to pry open Cuba’s economy like a clam; it will just most likely not be so simple as all that.
