I voted for Hillary, but Trump has announced that he is replacing Obamacare with single payer, which is what Canada has. That’s what Democrats started out trying to accomplish and wound up with Obamacare because the Republicans listened to the drug and insurance companies and blocked single payer. We don’t know what Trump is going to do, and I seriously suspect that he doesn’t either. I know that he knows that more than half of Americans didn’t vote for him, and if he wants to get reelected (questionable) he can’t be taking health care away. He actually will have to do what voters want. Most voters— like in the 60-70% range want the things advocated by Democrats to be domestic policy, if they are presented without a party label on them. Trump can be a beloved president rather easily. He just has to propose the things voters want and get the tea party and Democrats in congress to vote for it. The establishment Republicans will explode, but there aren’t enough of them to do much damage.

Canada’s Health plan has no insurance companies or HMOs (except for supplemental) and is funded by taxes. Once you start breathing you are covered. Depending on the province seniors meds are covered to either a annual deductible or a per prescription limit. The system isn’t perfect but it works pretty well. Watch out for the lobbyists trying to keep the HMOs and big insurance underwriters in business.

Didn’t know you could deport a vet.

A- deporting vets will cause a shi^-storm he DOES NOT want and B- since everyone here freaks out when someone says ‘taxes’ I don’t see the single system either. Everyone down here wants bells and whistles but doesn’t want to pay for it.

This is such a big fiasco. There are more undocumented workers in the military than anyone knows. Many of these are veterans.I read that 7.9 million Latinos voted FOR Trump. Can that be True??When he deports all those people and builds that trillion $$ wall, it will break up so many families, but he only cares about himself.Plus the cost of that wall will add to our children’s get.I know that only way he got elected was all the gerrymandering done in the last census year.I hope he is impeached on day 1. really, how many Latinos voted for Trump?

Single Payor does make sense: Medicare for all, as suggested by Bernie Sanders. Insurance companies could administer it, as they do now and sell supplemental coverage. The government would collect taxes to pay for it instead of us paying premiums to greedy ins. companies, and could negotiate with drug companies to keep costs down. Fix whatever does NOT work in other nations such as Canada. Everyone treated alike instead of being at the mercy of insurance bloodsuckers!
