It’s turn the world ON, but I think I like down better too. Just that Mary wasn’t that cool. She didn’t really have spunk, even if Lou told her she did.

True, but that doesn’t require actually waking up.

Same here. I tried to stick to a schedule, thinking I would feel better if I did. Doesn’t work that way— I’m best if I just ignore the clock and sleep when I get sleepy.

Actually, most expensive prescription pain killers don’t work any better than aspirin for me. But, as for most people over 60, my doctor has promised me an early death if I take it. Just have to decide if I actually want to live this particular day with the pain or if it would be better to take the aspirin anyway.

I do a lot of DIY work around my house. And, the stuff I do usually takes a lot more money and time than I think it will. Part of the materials will always be stuck somewhere in FedEx limbo while I try to work around it. And, there are always delays for family issues etc. Getting something done by a contractor is only really that much worse because at least I know I’m not going to just stop showing up.

This actually happened at an office I worked in years ago. The firing was loud enough for everyone on both floors to hear it. Then, the guy showed up to work the next day and went back to work as if nothing had happened. Everyone else just took a hands off approach. The boss didn’t come in until the day after that and just looked surprised and went on with his own schedule. When I left a few months later, both of them were still there.

I bother because confronting them will only make them dig in deeper if they have to defend their beliefs. Just seeing it from someone who they don’t care about might make them think without feeling threatened. Granted, it’s not much, but it’s something.

Alternative facts have made logical discourse impossible. It is possible to reason from accepted facts and at least consider each other’s viewpoint and possibly make some progress toward uniting our country. But, the right wing media has been presenting a twisted view of reality, designed to benefit the rich who own news outlets, for about 40 years now. If you think you can reason with someone who was raised on Rush Limbaugh, then Faux news etc. you are as delusional as they are. And, in the last five years or so, the truth can’t even be twisted enough to suit their purposes, which is not a problem because their brainwashing has resulted in a number of people who will believe them when they tell out right lies.

I’m a Packer fan. Please keep watching.

When we were in England, my Mother had to visit the emergency room. We were seen immediately, possibly because she was older and they weren’t sure what was wrong with her. We asked for the bill, explaining that we were Americans and didn’t qualify for the free medical care. They replied that they didn’t have any forms for making out a bill, no one who would know how to make out the form if they had one and anyway everyone who was getting paid was busy taking care of sick people. On the other hand, when my son needed surgery for his cancer, he had to wait six weeks for the doctor to have an opening in his schedule. And, later, his treatments were postponed because the insurance company was deciding whether to pay for them. This was the president of the Midwestern Prostate Ontological group being dictated to by a pencil pusher who probably never graduated from college. That was in Saint Louis, Missouri, United States of America. We pay more for medical care than anyone else on earth and it’s not because we are paying for actual medical care. We are spending money to support a huge insurance industry with money that then isn’t available to provide for patient care. Can you blame a person who is offered a high paying job in an industry that is already established and sucking the blood out of the health care needed by Americans, or blame the system that offered him the job?
