I loved seeing you at San Diego Comic Con! You signed my “Dream” poster (and the one about “Show Me Your Papers” ha!). I put them up in my office to inspire my students. BTW I talked you up to a room full of high school and college kids in Tustin on Friday. Great artist, biting commentary, hilarious, and cultural expert on Coco. See? You gotta come to the Con for your fans!
Direct and non-stop flights are not the same thing. A direct flight may get you from Seattle to Miami without having to change aircraft but it can make many stops in-between (as long as the flight number remains the same).
Let us distinguish between fairly small, non-profit, volunteer-run cons organized by fans for fans (and priced accordingly by people who themselves are used to stuffing 8 people into a hotel room) and the giant commercial operations very much designed to make a profit for the corporate organizers and where the phrase “cattle call” applies to 80% of the available activities (the other 20% being either invitation-only or at extra charge).

Yo nunca he ido a una convención de tiras cómicas y animaciones japonesas.

I know how that is, but at least San Diego Comic Con is home base for me.
