Same here, sorry to say..Looked up on wiki. Very much part of west coast Rock and Roll. Even coined the term, “oldies but goodies”.

I like it when I can learn something from a comic. Sounds like he was a great person as well as a great personality.

I saw his obit in the local paper. He had a good run, 96 or 97 years old.

Every year we lose more great talent due to time. Sadly, in my old fart opinion, we don’t get replacements that have the same talent.

I have removed my memorial of Art Laboe comment because, while he did appear on the late night talk shows on WBZ AM (Boston), he was probably not one of the several guests that did audience participation name-the-song segments, or other interactive song trivia.

I apologize for that mistake and I am a bit embarrassed. I am also happy to have taken an hour and a half to go find and listen to recordings of the various WBZ AM radio late night shows of the 70s -90s, online.
