A 40-inch CRT? How’d they even manage to get it up there, much less think they’d keep it there? Those things weighed a ton.

For a TV that large it is best to keep it on the ground and get yourself a pair of TV viewing goggles with mirrors/prisms that allow for viewing in bed. I have a pair I got from the Sharper Image about 20 years ago or so.

Should’ve used Gorilla tape. Or even Flexi-Seal.
I had a 33" TV and I couldn’t lift it by myself.
