It’s funny that, while comics were far more popular and widely read when this first appeared, the cartoonists felt a much greater need to continually recap (or re-Capp) the events in each installment. It feels as though Capp feared readers would forget what had happened the day before if some character didn’t expound upon it; or that every day there may be new readers only just joining the continuity who needed to be caught up.
