In the meantime, there’s a fan site where a Thomas Haller Buchanan lovingly scans collected strips and does his best to color-correct and remove bleedthrough from the comics printed on the back of the page. All this and a true appreciation of the art of Walt Kelly.
Somebody needs to tell him about putting a black sheet behind the paper when you scan. It’s crazy that the makers of scanners put a white background in the lid when all that does is emphasize the bleed-through from the back.

He often works from his own collection clipped from original newspapers so in some cases it may be the bleed through from original printing process.
