The Picasso is a crayon self-portrait called Facing Death, completed in June 1972, about one year before he died. In a prolific burst, he created several other self-portraits in the days immediately before and after this one… which took several months of revisitations before he was finally satisfied with it.
After the few days of many self portraits, he never painted another. This in spite of the fact that he never stopped working, painting up till 3:00 AM of the morning he died.
Mark once again lets us know is politics. Cartooning is for fun; political cartoons are for politics. He doesn’t serve his own best interests by crossing that line.

This is actually a great social commentary – With art, especially with cubist, surreal, etc., people see in it what they want to see. There are many interpretations of many pictures based on the observers bias.
Same thing with Tucker Carlson. People see in him (and other political commentators) what they want to see in them based on their bias.
This cartoon is neither insulting nor lauding Carlson; let the reader’s bias determine what they think the artist is saying.

Picasso, for his part, was lucid and could readily demonstrate a connection to reality. On demand.

Tatulli is the only cartoonist on the site who will inspire me to re-enable the comments. I do it to watch Boomers flip out over his strips.

What Tatuli thinks is irrelevant anyway. Whatever happened to the COVID apocalypse he promised for Texas a couple months back?

Tucker Carlson’s face always has that questioning look, like a dog that doesn’t quite understand what is going on.

I don’t get the comic’s joke. Exactly what has happened? Who is the guy supposed to be?

The fourth panel is subtly different from the first three. It’s that smile.
