Male hummers really don’t live very long, and once they attract a mate and fertilize the eggs, their job is pretty much over with! If you read Kate’s bird blog, you’ll find that they truly are deadbeat dads.Oh, cool! I just looked out the window and there’s a female hummingbird at one of my feeders! And, she actually perched on the fence for a minute :-)
