Earthworms are simultaneous hermaphrodites. They have both male and female organs, mate with other worms with both organs, and eggs from both are fertilized during mating. I discovered this when I walked outside one morning about a month ago, discovered a bunch of worms “physically entangled” in the yard, so looked it up to find out what was going on. Class dismissed! ;-) :-D
