Etta: I sometimes forget you were in the army Lola.
Laol: Yes, I was Etta.
Etta: Well, If I haven't said it before...tank you for you service.

Etta: Dont push it.
I’m a veteran and spent a year in-country in Viet Nam. I love and appreciate all my brothers and sisters in arms. I know what they went through and are still going through. But I’m beginning to dislike the phrase “thank you for your service”. I think it’s starting to sound trite and is losing it’s intended meaning like “have a nice day” has. It’s something to say but I think many people who say it don’t really think too often about what the words mean.
