I find the term “elongated American” describing her dog to be quite a stretch!

I’m a Czechoslovakian/German American but I’m okay with just American. I am not confused nor have an ego to boost.

I’m with you Lola – a nod and slight smile or even a frown are preferable than listening to the nonsense that flows from some people as supposed knowledge.

ya and my Boston Terrier prefers “flat face gas passer”

Is ’’Dachshund" that hard to say? Or Doxie, as I heard anglophone people also call it?

Dachshunds were looked upon as the enemy in USA during WW1.

And on top of all that, if anything it should prefer “elongated German” (dachshunds are a German breed) rather than “elongated American” … unless as several of you have stated, the dog actually identifies as American rather than German. :-)

More likely though, SHE’s the one who prefers “elongated American”, not the pooch.
