I actually saw one of my cats take a dead mouse dropped by the other cat. He did it cautiously and was clearly waiting for tacit permissions before he did it. Fortunately, Kirby (pictured in my avatar) was a pure sports-cat. He never ate his prey and didn’t mind giving it up when he was done with it.
