So many businesses include an apostrophe when one is not needed that it is either due to grammar ignorance or the work of a professional typo expert as in this case. Quite a way to go for this punch line

I think he’s suggesting the apostrophe as an attention-getter. People will stop in to tell him the sign is wrong and then buy something.

Local business sign: Car Fonic’s. I’ve wanted to paint over that apostrophe for 30 years.

Is the owner’s name Shoe? If so, the apostrophe is appropriate. If they are selling shoes, leave the sign alone.

Shouldn’t it be Akmee Tiepo’s?

I think I would change the name of my store…..unless I sold shoes.

Why do people call mistakes typos? A typo is when your finger hits two keys or the wrong key as you type or hits the keys in the wrong order, e.g., imstake. Adding an apostrophe when none is needed is a grammar error and so are most misspellings and wrong word errors.

I so hate when idiot’s don’t know that apostrophe’s aren’t used before the s in plural word’s.

Is that the owners name, “Shoe”, then the possessive is necessary, “Shoe’s shoes”…

Neither am I – especially since an apostrophe denotes possession. People are using it incorrectly constantly.
