Brad: Luann, how 'bout ironin' this shirt for me?
Luann: No, Brad. You can iron your own clothes
Brad: But I don't know how to iron!
Luann: If you can drive a car, you can learn to iron. It's all yours
Brad: So is it in neutral now or what?
Back around 1970 or so when I was a know-it-all hormonal pre-teenager, I was convinced that my Mum truly hated me because she made me learn how to iron my shirts and, ugh, my jeans (that was a holdover from the 60s, I reckon).
Funny enough, in hindsight, after five decades of dress shirts and uniforms, I find myself STILL grateful for the time and effort (and most of all PATIENCE) she put into teaching me…
