Mom: Oh, hunneeee....look at these adorable little baby dolls! Dad: Um hum. Mom:Let's get one for Luann! Dad: I'd say 13 is a bit old for dolls. Mom: What about the Whiting's girl, Amy? We could get her one! Dad: Amy?!! Amy's not even a year old! Mom: Ok, how about the winter's daughter? She'd love one of these! Dad: She's in college now, remember? Mom: Oh, right. hey-what about that little girl who just moved into the Jenson's old house?! Dad: We don't even know her! Mom: Your niece in Denver!! Dad: Honey, those are cute dolls, but let's face it, we just don't know anyone to buy one for. Mom: I think Sarah's the perfect name for her! did you see all those darling outfits you can get?

Yeah, Mom has mentioned a couple of times, “Maybe we should have another one,” and then Luann and Brad do something to remind them why they shouldn’t.
It’s odd when the mom starts getting into dolls, though. My mother began giving me dolls when she was in her 60s. If she wanted grandchildren, she never said, and I doubt very much it was that. Now she’s gone, and I’m so grateful to have a couple of those dolls.
