Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for March 16, 1999
Transcript:
Bernice, Delta, Tiffany and Luann are in class. Bernice says, "There was no year Zero! The millennium ends on the last day of 2000!" Delta says, "The zero's implied! Jesus began lif at age zero, not age one!" Tiffany says, "ooo! Chick fight! Who are they fighting about?" Luann says, "Not who, what. They're arguing about the new millennium" Tiffany says, "New Millennium" Tiffany says, "You mean a car? Someone got a new car?" Luann says, "Tiffany is the oxygen on your planet like, really thin, or what?"
The year/age difference is that years are numbered from the start of the year and age is numbered from the end. So January 1 is the start of year 1 but January 1 next year is when the child turns one. Bernice is right and no one cares and it’s all just place counting anyhow.
