Luann and Delta are sitting at a table. Luann says:"I'm really sorry for how Miguel and I behaved at the bowling alley. I have no excuse. It's just that" Delta puts her hand to her ear and says:"Do I hear an excuse?" Luann says:"Delta, he kissed me! I reminded him that I was with Gunther and he was with you! I told him there would be lots of hurt!" Luann says:"I did everything I could to stop him!" Delta says:"And yet when he leaned in for the kiss, there were your lips"
I blame Miss Phelps! she led Delta to believe Miguel had more amorous feelings for her than he really has, just to spare her feelings. I think this is the first time Delta has “loss” something she really wanted and now she can’t cope or rationalize
