At the mall they all split up. Delta says to Bernice:"What do you think happened to Luann?" Bernice says:"I don't know, Delta. I'm afraid to think about it..." Bernice says:"She could've been kidnapped or hit by a car. She could be locked up in a rat-infested cellar...or lying unconcious in a muddy ditch..." Meanwhile Luann and Aaron are having a good time at the library. Aaron has his arm around Luann.
It’s so weird reading this in 2017 when everyone has a phone in their pocket and even if you forgot it somewhere libraries have dozens of computers you could send an email, a tweet, a facebook message…this whole arc simply wouldn’t happen today. So strange.
