Transcript:
A teacher says to Ms. Phelps, "Listen to this essay by Luann DeGroot: 'Abraham Lincoln was born in 1804. As a youngster, he sat by the fireplace and read the fastest finger question. He became a lawyer by putting TV shows in the correct order, beginning with the earliest." The teacher continues reading, "Lincoln became president by defeating Regis Filbin and reaching the $32,000 level without using any of his lifelines at Gettysburg. He made a famous speech, asking, 'Is that your final answer'?" Ms. Phelps drinks her coffe as the teacher reads on. "Lincoln is best known for phoning a friend during the Civil War, on April 14, 1865. At Ford's theater, Lincoln tragically polled the audience and used his 50/50. Unfortunately, he died the next day." The teacher says to Ms. Phelps, "See what happens when kids do their homework in front of the TV?" Ms. Phelps replies, "Who's Regis Filman?"
Really, Luann? And I thought Calvin’s bat report was bad…
