Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for November 12, 2000
Transcript:
The overall caption reads, "In The Year 2040." First panel: An aged Frank scolds Luann, who is standing in a futuristic contraption. He yells, "LUANN! Get off the VirtuaPhone! Others want to use it too, you know!" Luann approaches Brad, whose head disappears into the engine of his car. She tells him, "Brad, I need a ride to my gene therapist." Without taking his head out of the car, Brad replies, "Tough. You shouldn't have failed your driving test 46 times." An aged Nancy is at the door of Luann's room, which is covered with mounds of clothes. She consults a handheld device called "DataPro", and says, "...And again, on May 3rd, 2012, you said, "I'll clean my room tomorrow." Buried in clothes, Luann asks, "What's your point?" An older Bernice reads "Senior Teen," while Luann lounges on her bed. Posters on the wall read "Visit the Moon," "DiCaprio for President," and "Hanson - the Viagra Tour." Luann is saying, "Or maybe I should have married Gunther. Or Miguel. I wanted to marry Aaron Hill, of course...". Bernice gags.
2020 will be halfway between 2000 and 2040. Damn, time flies….
