I feel if I learned that I have an older full sibling who was born (and not to teenagers, either), I would probably instantly lose any trust in my parents. I could understand giving up to adoption if either parent had an “accident” before they met, some relationship they knew won’t work, but – they were then together, they are still together, they had me and raised me on their own, but they gave my sibling away?? How would I ever be sure that they wouldn’t give ME away if keeping me started to be somewhat uncomfortable??
I was myself born when my parents were for their 4th year in university and I wasn’t even sent to their home town to grandparents, so I’m not exactly unbiased, of course…
